Sampling Instructions for Near Surface Soil Samples
- Locate your position on the map.
- Clear loose soil away from sample location.
- Using a simple garden trowel, dig down until soil is consolidated. Usually this is 2 to 6 inches.
- Acquire soil sample.
- Repeat two more times within a 6 foot area so that the sample is an aggregate of the sample location.
- You should have approximately half a ziploc sandwich bag of soil. Two to three cups of sample is adequate for analysis.
